Guy Rutter
After studying at the Falmouth College of Art and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Rutter has been running his own painting and printmaking studio. He also works as a scene painter in film, theatre and TV, which informs the scale and technique of his prints. His studies in Cornwall in the 1980s deeply influenced his work. Rutter draws inspiration from the St. Ives School of the 20th century and artists like Patrick Heron.
Rutter is also a member of the Porthmeor Print Workshop in St Ives, and has worked at Sarah Simmons’ Goose Studio in Faversham. Guy Rutter’s work was shown at Frank, Whitstable and will feature in an upcoming show at Newlyn Art Gallery.
